Information
Cosentino has launched the Silestone Loft Collection, a new series of five colours inspired by industrial design found in neighbourhoods around the world. The inspiration behind the collection dates back to the mid-20th century, a time when abandoned factories, large workshops and warehouses in several metropolitan neighbourhoods were turned into loft apartments. The deliberately unfurnished look of concrete, cement, exposed beams, and pipes was popular in many homes, creating the industrial trend that is still prevalent today. The connection between the past and the present led to Cosentino’s creation of the Silestone Loft series colours: Camden, Poblenou, Seaport, Nolita and Corktown.
The collection is the first series to be made using Cosentino’s innovative and exclusive HybriQ+ technology. It is a new production process characterized by the company’s commitment to the environment, the circular economy and sustainable management.
In addition to consolidating Cosentino’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, the multinational again reaches a milestone within the sector that changes the paradigm of the quartz surface category. By reducing the presence of quartz in the composition of Silestone® in these new colours, Cosentino is anticipating the requirements of future laws and more restrictive rules that advise the decrease in the use of silica. It also favours greater safety in the production and professional environment of the sector.
Thanks to this innovative process, reused raw materials are used in the manufacturing of Silestone Loft. In addition to this, Cosentino’s production process is carried out by employing 98 per cent recycled water and 100 per cent renewable energy. Furthermore, thanks to HybriQ+ technology, the presence of crystalline silica is significantly reduced. Instead, a hybrid formula made up of minerals and reused raw materials, such as recycled glass, is used.
