Information

It brings us great pleasure to bring to the market our new range of Glazed Bricks from our new manufacturing partners, Mora Ceramics. Glazed bricks have traditionally been used in the UK for many years, initially their creation was accidental in that their location in the kiln stack caused the glazing affect. Later and due to their popularity in design, glazing was developed in to an extremely skilled process being able to produce almost any colour. The now traditional process requires two firing processes – one to make the brick itself and the second to develop the glazed finish. This obviously leads to a cost and environmental impact associated with two firings. Mora have developed a unique system of firing both the brick and the glazed finish simultaneously, this removes the now unnecessary second firing process saving cost and saving energy and carbon. This process is the result of a large amount of research and the use of the highest quality clays combined with unique glazes. As with all innovative processes, there is a small disadvantage of a more narrow colour range, but we believe the cost and environmental benefits outweigh this for sizeable projects. These Glazed products have already been supplied to a vast number of sites and developments in Europe and since being added to our range in September 2020, the UK is starting to follow the trend of creating bespoke, one of a kind projects with a unique texture and colour. Available in a multitude of sizes and specials, the glazed range from AAB & Mora Cermaics gives you unlimites application possibilities when choosing the brick type for your project!
