Information

OPAL-Systems - wooden floor heating, thin, light and REACTIVE. OPAL-Systems is a “reactive” floor heating emitter made of wood. It combines the known advantages of underfloor heating while reducing its disadvantages. OPAL-Systems is a dry system that works with low temperature water and can be installed on floor as well as walls. OPAL-Systems is made of waterproof MDF type panels placed on a stable, flat and thermally/acoustically insulated support. Grooves with an Ω profile having a 16 mm neck have been milled to accommodate and hold in place specifically preformed aluminum diffusers. The heating pipe then clips into these metal diffusers. The assembly allows the pipe to be held firmly and in suspension in the groove to ensure intimate thermal contact and optimal diffusion of heat upwards. Finally, an expanded aluminum grid is unrolled and stapled to the system. Tiles or parquet, can then be laid directly on the assembly with adhesive mortar or glue which will completely coat the metal mesh so as to uniformly transmit the heat towards the external face of the final coating. This mesh also improves the grip of the final coating and contributes to the strengthening of the entire structure. A cast coating (epoxy, decorative concrete, etc.) can also be directly applied on the grid. OPAL-Systems specificity is the direct contact between pipes, diffusers and floor covering. By this constitution, OPAL-Systems has low thermal inertia and can therefore quickly adapt to variable and intermittent needs (heating and cooling). Thanks to this possibility of intermittent operation, the OPAL-Systems allows energy savings of 15% to 35% compared to continuous use, while improving thermal comfort. Light (13 kg / m²) and compact (21 mm thick), OPAL-Systems can be integrated into all types of premises (living room, kitchen, bedroom, office, mezzanine, veranda, large room, etc.), new construction as well as renovation. Operating with water at low temperature, it allows high yields

In ten years, OPAL-Systems has successfully been installed in 800 projects in the Benelux, France and Switzerland totaling more than 80,000 m² in the residential and tertiary buildings, new construction and renovation. It includes multi-purpose and sports halls where it can even be placed directly ABOVE an elastic complex suitable for sports uses (anti-shock).
