AYNO LIGHTING FAMILY

with AYNO - the first design of a new midgard lamp since the 1950s, industrial designer stefan diez is testing the boundaries between the origin and status quo of adjustable lighting. the draft seeks a formal as well as technical radical approach to the matter. central feature of the AYNO lighting family is a fiberglass rod, which is stretched to the bow by the luminaire cable. the inherent tension of the rod allows a lamp without any joints. by sliding the two adjustment rings at top and bottom, the fiberglass rod is bent into the desired position and the light is directed where needed. the cable tightens the rod into an arc, of which the radius can be varied as required using the adjustment rings. the fine adjustment is done with the swiveling lampshade. the minimalistic construction enables extremely low resource consumption recycling and materials: • the lamp consists of 3 entirely recyclable primary materials: steel / fiberglass / ABS / PC • made primarily from recycled materials (steel and plastics) • sorted recycling: all used materials can easily be seperated from another due to the use of plug connections - no tools needed. local sourcing: by using semi-finished products such as steel disks and pipes as well as fiberglass rods, transport routes can be avoided, by sourcing these locally, instead of sending complete lamps around the world. longevity: one of the first lamps that can be repaired tool-free by the user: plug connections allow the lamp head or transformer to be replaced by hand, which significantly extends the lifespan of the lamp. in addition most other parts can be repaired tool-free. there is no comparable development on the international lighting market. quality: use of high quality tools, materials and manufacturing methods and high-end LED for a long product lifespan energy efficient: through the use of 7 and 10W LEDs with a luminous flux of 140 lumens per watt freestanding fixture | metal | black lampshade | plastic | black textile cable |neon orange or black LED | dimmable | 7W (S) & 10W (L/XL) | 3000k
